In an ideal location to explore the island, the house is set low on the hillside with wide, uninterrupted views east, south and west to watch the weather change throughout the day. Soak up those views through the floor-to-ceiling windows south over the bay and rare reeds beds, east to stunning sunrises over the bay and west to sunset over the moors.
This is a substantial and luxuriously appointed home-from-home with a spacious, double–height living area, 2 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a quiet relaxing area upstairs with surprise balcony and study space. The open plan living/dining/kitchen area is a fantastic light and airy double-height space with large windows opening onto a large wraparound deck, perfect for watching the world go by and stargazing at night. A muted colour palette throughout enhances the restful ambience in harmony with our surroundings.
Underfloor heating keeps oak floors warm underfoot and a multi-fuel stove keeps you cosy should evenings cool. Floor to ceiling windows enhance solar gain, bringing the outside in as you make the most of the views south and west from the warmth of indoors. Central to the kitchen/dining area is an island unit with a unique, hand-crafted worktop crafted from beech trees from Lews Castle grounds, fallen in storms. The kitchen is so well stocked to make eating in, or baking, a pleasure, with induction hob, ovens, microwave, Nespresso machine, wine chillers and fridge … oh and a dishwasher makes tidying up a little easier. A gas BBQ sits outside on our dining deck in the reeds for sunny days.
Bedrooms face south to make the most of the views. The master suite with superking bed, has a wet-room style en-suite shower room and those views again! The second bedroom (superking or twin) exudes warmth and sits across from the bathroom with a relaxing bath and separate shower.
